Robert "Robbie" Sanford, Elementary Campus Principal M.Ed, Sul Ross University B.S., Business Administration, Howard Payne College (Email Mr. Sanford) Phone Contact: 655.2851 At Veribest since 2012
Mr. Robert Sanford was born in Bay City, Texas and attended all 12 years of school in Van Vleck, Texas. He graduated from Howard Payne College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, along with a teaching certificate. He received his mid-management and superintendent certificates from Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas.
Mr. Sanford has spent the majority of his teaching and administrative career in West Texas, having spent the last eight years as a school superintendent. Having the opportunity to get back to working closer with students, teachers, and parents led him to seek out the elementary principal position at Veribest ISD.
Robert is married to his lovely wife Shelly (Yancy) who is currently employed by the Small School Cooperative of San Angelo. They have five boys and one daughter, several who are teachers and coaches.
Mr. Sanford believes that each child should be challenged to reach his/her full potential. "I will have high expectations for every child. Our kids are our future leaders and must be prepared!"
2010-2011 Texas Comptroller Rated "Five Star" Elementary Campus
Texas Education Agency 'Exemplary' Campus Recognition The Texas Education Agency accountability ratings system rates all public schools, charter schools, and school districts in the State of Texas. The criteria are the same for schools and districts. Based on how the school or district performs, the school or district will receive one of four possible rankings: Exemplary (the highest possible ranking), Recognized, Academically Acceptable, and Academically Unacceptable (the lowest possible ranking). How Do You Define a Teacher: Teachers impact our students more by their character than by their communication. People learn best by example, not by direct instruction. “Actions speak louder than words.” As a teacher they must move from being a mere “dispenser of information” to a mentor and organizer of the learning process.
