INFORMATION FOR THE COMMUNITY
Community is something we all long for. We long to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, to love and to be loved, to give to others, and to receive that greatest of gifts – friendship. So what does this have to do with the Veribest schools? An often overlooked area is to provide an environment of community for our families; our parents and our children. The schoolhouse is a keystone to that community. Our energies and efforts don't just pour into our children, but also to one another as well. There is an added complexity as we are required to work together and at the same time to achieve a common goal – leading our community's families to become one, guiding and directing our children toward a productive and fruitful future. We are much like a sports team, all playing our positions to move the ball down the field, so to speak. We do different things, but we must do them together. Relational awareness and a deep sense of togetherness make our times of working together much more enjoyable. When we work together as a loving community, it is then that we lead our children towards a greater success!

Community Quick Links
We have provided the following links to make it easy for our Veribest 'Friends and Neighbors' to find the information they are looking for:

Community Information:
•   Historical Perspective
•   District Calendar
•   Veribest Harvest Newsletter

Falcon Pride Club Information:
•   Labels for Education
Veribest ISD will be participating in a new collection program this year, Labels for Education. This program works just like the Box Tops for Education collection program in that it will cost you absolutely nothing to participate but will help out Veribest a bunch. What a great deal, right?! To help out start looking at the UPC box on items that you regularly purchase at the store to see if it has the Labels for Education logo. If so, clip out the UPC and send it to school with your very best student (just the UPC box is needed, not the whole label). Some drinks have bottle caps that can also be redeemed. We can then use those points to purchase items for the school. Check out the website (link above) for a really long list of all the great items that have qualifying UPC's (so it should be easy to collect a bunch!) More information will be sent around the second week of school. So, for right now, start collecting and holding on to those UPC's and bottle caps!

•   Box Tops for Education
Do you want to help Veribest ISd be the very best but your wallet has been feeling a little strained? Did you know there's a way you can help support Veribest ISD with new supplies for the classrooms and teachers that won't cost you a dime?! That's right, you can help a whole lot and it won't cost you a thing. Once again this year we will be asking students (and parents) to collect Box Tops. If you're not familiar with what a box Top is, let me fill you in. It's a little pink square that says "Box Top for Education" on it and it is printed right on the boxes and packages of lots and lots of items you already buy regularly at the grocery store. All you have to do is clip out the Box Top and send it to school with your very best student. Each one of these little Box Tops equals ten cents for our school. You may think that doesn't sound like much but they really do add up. Plus you can earn more Box Tops for the school by visiting the Box Tops website (listed above). The site has lots of great recipes and coupons for items that have Box Tops. You can also shop at the Box Tops Market Place and the Barnes and Noble Reading Room and each purchase earns more Box Top points for Veribest. And while you are there, don't forget to check out the special promotions and sweepstakes where you can enter to win Bonus Box Tops for the school. Right now they have a sweepstakes where the winning school will receive 500,000 Bonus Box Tops. That's $50,000 to the winning school! More information will be coming around the second week of school. So, for right now just start clipping and holding on to those Box Tops!
